This is a worked example with fictitious figures. It shows how the calculation can be built. Replace hourly costs, rates and volumes with your own figures to get a calculation that fits your business.
The starting point
We use a fictitious haulage or contracting company with 10 drivers or technicians in the field and 2 people in the office (dispatch, supervision and finance). The same model works for other businesses with staff out on jobs, for example a lift service company.
We use two hourly values: SEK 500 per hour for office time and SEK 800 for a billable hour in the field.
1. Less administration: time, payroll and invoicing
Before: the office collects paper time sheets and delivery notes, interprets overtime and unsocial-hours pay, and keys in payroll and invoicing data by hand.
With Telme: drivers and technicians report time, materials and deviations directly in Telme Go on the work order or transport order. The payroll module interprets the hours against the applicable collective agreement, including overtime, unsocial hours and absence, and produces payroll data ready for approval and export. With integrations such as Fortnox or Spiris/Visma, completed orders can become invoices in the finance system. Weighbridge tickets, receipts and phone orders can also be interpreted with AI, so less has to be entered manually.
Example: the 2 office staff together save 10 hours per week, about 40 hours per month.
40 h × SEK 500 = SEK 20,000 per month.
2. Less revenue leakage: what never got invoiced
Before: when things get busy, things get forgotten: waiting time at loading, an extra run, travel time or materials that were used but never written down.
With Telme: the order is on the phone, and time, materials and photos are recorded on site. The customer can sign the order directly in the app. Recurring jobs and planned service can be scheduled automatically, so contracted work does not fall through the cracks.
Example: per driver or technician and month, 2 billable hours and SEK 1,000 in materials or surcharges are captured that would otherwise have been missed.
(2 h × SEK 800 + SEK 1,000) × 10 people = SEK 26,000 per month.
3. More time in the field: planning and communication
Before: calling around to find someone available, explaining jobs over the phone and driving past the office to pick up paperwork. As a user at Kävlinge municipality puts it: "It saves an enormous amount of time. Before, you had to sit and call around in the mornings. You might have to call 20 substitutes before you got one."
With Telme: dispatch sees vehicles and staff in the map view and workload in the schedule view, calendar or kanban board. The order is sent straight to the app with a notification. With Traffic & Warnings, accidents, roadworks and closures are visible before the vehicles leave.
Example: each driver or technician saves 1 hour per week, about 4 hours per month.
10 people × 4 h × SEK 800 = SEK 32,000 per month in time available for more jobs.
Summary
| Area | Calculation | Value per month |
|---|---|---|
| Reduced admin time | 40 h × SEK 500 | SEK 20,000 |
| Reduced revenue leakage | (2 h × SEK 800 + SEK 1,000) × 10 | SEK 26,000 |
| Increased field productivity | 10 × 4 h × SEK 800 | SEK 32,000 |
| Total | SEK 78,000 (SEK 936,000 per year) |

Values that are harder to put a number on
- Fewer errors: when information is entered only once, there are fewer errors in orders and payroll. Sandahls THL Transportservice highlights this, along with time savings in all administrative flows.
- Grow with the same office: more orders and vehicles do not require more office staff at the same rate.
- Vehicles and fleet: for haulage companies, vehicle data can be fetched via Fordonskontroll, so inspections and service appear in the same view as the runs.
- Environment: less paper, and the fuel log and follow-up of runs provide a basis for smarter planning.
